Garden Furniture

Having some garden or patio furniture can really make your home a special place to be.

Usually this is the last thing you do as all your money will go on home improvements, but once you have decided to do some landscaping, adding some garden furniture really is the icing on the cake.

It’s just like choosing the  furniture for your home, will this work with that, do you go for teak or cane patio furniture.
There are other things to consider too, maybe you have a conservatory, and then patio and decking between your house and your landscape garden.

Aluminium garden furniture is built to last and easy to look after, it wont really need any maintenance, such as painting or varnishing, just a polish now and then.

The older style rustic garden furniture does look nice and adds a little charm but is better suited to the older style garden in many ways. Old style seats and benches made from thin old logs do add some charm to any garden furniture choice.

If your short of money you’re can just start with the plastic variety; some of these do look very nice as the quality is getting better every year.
It is cheap to buy and can still look good, this is ideal if you have just spent all your cash on having your garden landscaped or moving home.

There are things you can buy to make your garden special such as patio heaters, stoves, hammocks, awnings, sun loungers and swing seats but you really do have to know where to stop.

There are a wide range of BBQs that will make you look like a master chef in your garden too.

If you have a conservatory this will be the perfect stop between your house and your garden, this is where you can have some nice sofas with proper cushions, not so good for patio furniture of course as it wouldn’t fair well in the rain.

Sit down with a pen and paper and start to plan it out; write down everything you want for your garden. Once this is done you can then cross off the items you can do without for now as you can always add them later.

Take your list and visit your local garden centres and other places that sell garden furniture and shop around to find the best deals.

If you’re going to buy everything from one place you can usually get a good price with some haggling, or, you can get bits from different shops.

If you look after your garden furniture it can last for years, if you don’t, you will have to keep buying new.
